Mr. Robert Maves is 63 years old, and President, Chief Instructor, and Head
Coach of Maves Martial Arts and Maves Self-Defense Technologies (Mav-Tec). Mr. Maves
is also a two time National Sparring Champion and currently AAU certified Coach, USA Tae Kwon Do Level 1 Coach, and USA
National Team Coach for 2007 World Championship Poomsae Team. He is also the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor
for Clark College. One of the three Co-Founders of Horizon Achievement Academy, a regional high performance training
organization created for elite athletes competing in National and International competition, also President of the United
Taekwondo Fellowship, an organization founded for instructor development. His
other certifications include: 6th Dan in Taekwondo,
W.T.F. Certified Instructor Associate Instructor in Kali / Jeet
Kune Do 6th Dan in Arnis - Daga, certified by Mr.
John Daniels, C.M.A.I. 5th Dan Black Belt in Arnis

Master Christi Burke-Maves
Chief Instructor
Ms. Burke is 38 years old, a 5th Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, and is Vice-President
and Chief Instructor of Maves Martial Arts. Ms. Burke is an AAU Certified Coach. A 3rd Degree Black
Belt in Mav-Tec's System 2000, a Graduate Level Kickboxer certified by Combative Martial Arts International,
and a 1st Dan in Arnis. Ms. Burke also teaches Taekwondo, Kickboxing, and Self-Defense at Clark Community
College, Women's Self-Defense at Reed College, and Taekwondo at Portland Community College. Ms. Burke is certified by the
American Heart Association for the Pacific Northwest region to instruct and certify in C.P.R. and First Aid.
